am i mingin?!

we're now back from our adventures on the backwaters of kerela in a lovely wooden houseboat. it was no where near as luxurious as our hotel but it was amazing! there were 4 members of staff on the boat with us - a captain, vice-captain, cook and assistant. the food was lovely and proper indian food, non of this overly rich posh stuff! it was so relaxing as we travelled through the backwaters seeing people going about their general day to day life in and round the water. we relaxed in the evening by playing cards with a few kingfishers, both of the bottled and bird kind! there were also alot of cockroaches which didnt go down too well with everyone else, im used to them now! it was so hot in the evening, the little fan just moved the hot air round the room and the mosquito net clung to us, even so i managed to sleep but i think i was the only one to manage it!

just waiting for our room to be ready now then going off for a swim in a bit to refresh ourselves! aaah back to luxury till sunday! Bliss!

im being really sad and sitting in a bar in my ever so posh hotel in kerela checking my emails and keeping all you guys up to date with whats happening in ktpland!

saturday was holi festival again and i got totally covered with paint! we left work and just started chucking powedered dye at each other and any motorbikes that went by! it was so much fun! wish they did something like that in england! then went to really cool houseparty to celebrate patrice's birthday and we chillaxed on the roof.

today we flew to kerela, a really beautiful place south of banaglore and on the coast. we checked into the poshest hotel ive even been to, its sooooo nice and big rooms with douvets and baths! im a happy girl! had a lovely swim this afternoon before an all you can eat buffet dinner! mmmm! tomorrow we are going on a housboat overnight on the backwaters and ive been told its lovely so cant wait! its also nice to get a week off work, i was getting a bit fed up with it to be honnest! ill be nice and refreshed to go back for just 16weeks (or something like that) of it then i leave for good! :-S argh! cess leaves on friday and ill miss her last day which is really sad and i dont want her to go! :-(

not really got much more to say, other than the fact that im all chilled out and still loving india! woohoo!

had another good night out last night at guess where..........yup, cosmo! we then went onto taika, it was closed so went back to cosmo and ended up in blue bar at one of the hotels. only trouble was it was closed too, we still spent an hour there though! aparently the whole of the indian cricket team were staying at the hotel and thats why it was closed. i also walked past their huge coach with india all over it but managed to miss it completely! had a great day at work today cos i was still tipsy and so were em and cess! whoops! hehe.

came into the city to go to the tailors to pick up 4 new tops and 2 pairs of trousers and they all fit after a bit of an adjustment which is really cool. only trouble is there was a powercut so they all carried on sewing by candlelight which was interesting! i also went to get some links taken out of my new watch (yes another one!) and the guy gave me the extra links back saying 'keep these safe for when you put on some more weight!' charming! he obviously thinks i wount be reduced for very long! :-P he must know that we are all off to TGIFridays tomorrow, really hope they have phish food! mmmmmmmmmm! Ben and Jerrys is the bestest! yum! sorry got a bit carried away there!

talking about food, weve all got really adicted to sweetcorn here. either cold out of the tin or hot with butter on from stalls outside! its great! just thought id share that with you anyway!

well its all been taken down now. it was quite sad cos i really enjoyed doing it, anyway not long now till i do it again in hydrabad and all my mates at cosmo have to listen to me going on about it again! muah-ha-ha! i ended up selling 2 photos though and im dead chuffed about that, proves that other people not just me like them anyway!

yesterday i had a farewell meal with cess cos i wont be here for her bday or when she leaves next week. it was a really good night, we had a chinese and actually found a restaurant that do prawn crackers! oh yeah!!! we then ended up in cosmo (suprise suprise!!). its so sad to think cess's going, ill miss her sooooooo much but at least i know im seeing her again in the summer when i get back to england (although i still dont wanna leave here!)

tonight i went for a swim at leela palace. it was so nice, i swam for so long that it was daylight when i got in then pitch black by the time i left (although the sun does set fast out here so that proves nothing!) i had to keep dodging the dragonflies and bats as i was swimming which was interesting, plus all the dead bugs floating near the lights in the pool, eeew! i forgot to bring a plastic bag for my swimsuit afterwards so i walked out of this posh hotel with my costume in my hands dripping on the floor and then when i got into a rickshaw i held it out to dry it a bit! think everyone thought i was a bit strange! ive also found the best hairdryer out here........a rickshaw! i went in it with my hair soaking, got out at forum with it bone dry and once id brushed it it looked like id had it straightened! ace! hehe! good job though cos i had to get a passport photo taken for the new exhbition cos it had a brochure! oooooh!

im reading a cool book at the moment its by bill bryson and called a short history of nearly everything and i read a bit today that i found quite interesting, its probably not to everyone else but cos some of you think im a geek im just proving it!

i just thought that was quite cool. if you flew loads and loads (actually a hell of a lot!) you'd extend your life even if it was just a second longer..............i think its interesting!

took half day at work today cos had to sit with the exhibition for the afternoon. it was quite FETCH (im getting there with the new "in" words!) and lots of people were interested in speaking to me. Ive even had an offer for my work to be displayed by another exhibitor in Hydrabad (another city further north about 12hours away!) in April. :-) im quite excited! Tomorrow is the last day and im going to be there most of the day cos i think more people that i know will turn up and it will just generally be busier. it also gives me a good chance to read and catch up on letter writing with no interruptions!

the acoustic thing last night was...erm...not very good! i was all excited about going, we turned up half an hour after theyd started and they said "weve already played this one before but we're gonna do it again!" also they didnt know the words, they had to read them from the book! oh dear! we then ended up next door at a place called nineteentwelve and it was ACE! they played loads of 80s and 90s pop which was just what i needed, we even had tragedy and ymca! yaya! what was my saying last year?

the exhibitions open and im actually really pleased with it. i was so nervous the day before and while we were putting it up but in the end everything was ok! the gallery is 1 big room and my photos take up nearly a whole wall on their own, leaving the other 4 artists 3 walls to share between them! it opened around 6pm and there was a little ceremony, there were lots of people from work, the girls and also some people from cosmo turned up which was really nice! id been given some flowers by the girls and as we were leaving the gallery, i was in the backseat of rileys car stopped at traffic lights. When a certain irish man noticed a sad looking woman in the car next to us so wound down his window and gave her MY FLOWERS! chuh men! when we got to cosmo though i did get a new bunch that were just as nice just a different colour!

yesterday, st patricks day was ace! id arranged to meet some mates in the dublin bar (the only irish bar in b'lore). we arrived and there was no guinness and no irish music! it was the most un-irish you could get really! we all had to wear something green, i had green, white and orange ribbons in my hair plus various green accessories! later on we moved onto taika for a bit and then went back to one of the guys house and i had a bacon buttie! wow it was so good! he'd just come back from england and had brought lots of bacon with him! mmmm! hehe. woke up this morning and felt rough so didnt venture into work untill lunchtime! whoops! was such a good night, should be st patricks day every day!

tonight im off to an unplugged session at a cafe in the city which should be cool. bit of different music for a change! i do actually miss rock music (yes you did read that right guys! i miss rock music and rock night!) although i still love pop "crap" too! :-P

had a really cool but busy end to the week last week. Thursday was really good fun and met some lovely people from scotland. we went for a meal to cosmo then ended up unexpectedly in taika for one drink before my driver came. Friday was cosmo again, another wicked night out seeing everyone and i got to hand out my invitations for my exhibition (eeek!) theres a poster advertising it in cosmo (and taika as well i think) now which is quite exciting! Saturday, cosmo AGAIN!! but this time just to drop off something and then i got a lift to club x. id never been before but it wasnt bad actually, i prefer taika and spinn but it was much less busy! another bonus was that it managed to stay open till 1:30/2am this week before the police came with their sticks again! ....by the way happy birthday rock chick for last saturday! hope you had a good night out, sorry bout the phone call i was on my way home and had had a bit of kingfisher! whoops! hehe!.... Sunday was a rest and relaxation day. went swimming to the taj westend and sunbathed all day! it was so hot though you couldnt sunbathe for long without having to get in the pool. you lot in uk jelous yet?! :-P we then went to the cinema to see "constantine" very cool film but a bit weird! i got scared as usual and to make matters worse i got back to bommasandra in a lightning storm, had no power and couldnt find the candles! today i was at work all day but couldnt sit still i was really fidgety and got hardly any work done what so ever! decided to go swimming tonight cos had too much excess energy, tried to go to leela but the pool was closed for a private party! doh. that was the only place i knew stayed open a bit later and i felt ok going there on my own. never mind anyway i came to forum and went shopping!!! yaya! by far my favourite sport!

this week im thinking of doing a bit of a detox but cant really see it happening! its too much effort! hehe! especially seeing as st patricks day is coming up! ;-)

only 2 days left now till the exhibiton opening, its really cool cos hopefully quite a few people will come and see it! argh better get thinking how i want to display it now i know people are coming!! :-P hehe!

rambled on far too long now, need to get some plastic cheese before fab mall shuts else em and cess will kill me!

happy womens day apparently!

dire straits were brill yesterday (anything but dire! :-P) sorry bad bad joke! it was only mark knopfler (hope i spelt his name right!) but it was soo good! didnt realise how many songs i actually knew! sanath brought along a little beverage for us before we entered the venue which was cool but i did think we'd never make it! we had one hell of a rikshaw journey! the first driver didnt understand us so we had to direct him then the rik broke down, the next also didnt know where to go, we missed the turning and were then pulled over by the police cos there were 4 people in the rik. he was fined Rs100 and we had to find another 2 riks this time. this guy didnt know where to go either (it wasnt a hard place to find, it was at the palace!) so i directed him and we eventually got there!

my exhibitions coming up and im getting nervous! went to pick up my frames today but the shop wasnt open, going to try again tomorrow, hopefully its all done! i cant wait to have my work on display and available to buy but its also scary knowing that people are coming to see your work and could actually hate it all! eeek! well i like it and guess thats all that matters!

in a bit of a daze today, just semmed to faff around all day and then i was getting some money out for me from our accounts department and in a 5min walk, if that, i managed to loose Rs1000, i re-traced my steps and its nowhere to be seen! argh! didnt get paid much this month either cos i was ill with my neck and the time you take off for being sick you dont get paid for! grr! ah well one less handbag this week i guess! *sniff!* hehe

had an ace day yesterday! went for our champagne brunch (d'harling!), id booked it for 20 people and when we arrived there was no table for us! thankfully they managed to put one together cos i had this bet going that id have the best table at leela and i needed to win! we had a good giggle with the aid of lots of free champagne, vodka and beer! i even had a creme brulle (cane spell it but you know what i mean!) made specially for me and it was lovely (although i didnt get much of it cos a certain person ate it for me! :-P you know who you are!) didnt really eat that much food, i started with a platful of puddings and that filled me up so didnt want anything else! then at about 8pm we went to a salsa party. had a good boogie into the night but didnt appreciate getting up for work this morning!

off to see dire straits tonight, should be cool. not really much more to add to this comment but thought you might like to know!!!

fan left to go back to paris today :-( she'll be back in a week but wont be living with all of us in bommasandra when she gets back. itll be so strange without her and cess leaves soon too, nooo, our numbers are dwindling! theres still 4 of us in bommasandra though plus all the cosmo villagers! yaya!

bommasandra - the place to be!

Well we didn’t go belly dancing yesterday cos em got the date wrong! Its not till tomorrow! Instead we went out for a big meal and then had a good old boogie in taika. It was ace! Saw lots of people I hadn’t seen for a while which was cool!

Works getting a bit stressful at the mo. We are coming to the end of our fashion collection and so have to get all the designs finished and woven. I keep being given 3 jobs at once to do and have to pick different colours for the designs for variety. This is all ok apart from the fact that I have to pick each colour at least 3 times, all from different sources with different codes. Why they cant just have one book that the whole factory uses I don’t know but it would make my life a whole lot easier!

Im typing this in bommasandra instead of bangalore tonight so its not a long post cos the net is sooo slow here! Don’t think they’ve ever heard of broadband! Satying at home tonight, probably get a takeaway and chillax! Mmmmm!

just thought id say that im going to belly dancing workshop 2moz after work! should be interesting!

im a bit sad today cos 2 of my closest mates our leaving india this month for good. dont want them to go! its also made me realise that ive only got 4months left in india, 3 of them in bagalore. i dont wanna come home yet! its gonna be well hard to leave everyone and everything. a guy at work told me today i was his best friend and hed be so sad when i leave! i nearly cried! bless him! anyways *sniff* tarra for now!

the headlining news for today?.........ive found somewhere that sells HEINZ baked beans out here! woohoo! i had tried other makes but they were MING and as i was giving up hope i found some! they are 99rupees a can though, thats about one quid a can but in my eyes its worth it! just feel sorry for becca my housemate! *parp!*

went out on saturday night, we were all up for a big one but cosmo closed at 11:30pm. this usually happens cos the police come and we stay upstairs untill they go away and we cary on partying but this time they had to close properly. we tried to go onto a club but EVERYWHERE had closed. apparently its a new law here that everywhere must close at 11pm. we decided to try a club called mafia thats out of the city and it was open, we managed to dance to one song, order and pay for our drinks then the police came! doh! we hung around inside trying to get our money back but then the police came in with big sticks hitting things trying to get us outside! it was like we were cattle being herded up! ah well wasnt a very eventful night but it meant we got an early night ready for sunday when we went to an ace houseparty! it started at 1pm and we didnt leave till 11:30pm. there were lots of drinkypoos and a seafood bbq. mmmm! i love my life out here!

just got my photos back ready for my photographic exhibition! im so excited, only 16days to go then ktp will be a name on everyones lips!!! hehe anyway!..........
